Mo-Sys at the White House: StarTracker Delivers on the South Lawn

When UFC needed camera tracking for a live broadcast from the South Lawn of the White House, they called Mo-Sys.

To mark 250 years of American independence, the UFC staged ‘UFC Freedom 250’ – a live fight night aired on Paramount+. The production wanted 3D augmented graphics rendered against one of the most recognisable buildings in the world, tracking live from a 45-foot crane for an outdoor broadcast starting in the day and continuing into the night. The Mo-Sys team were on the ground to make it happen.

Markers were warped by lawn irrigation. Bleachers threatened to occlude the tracking field. Direct Washington sun wiped and hard shadows.

The team adapted continuously, amending compromised markers, tuning parameters on the fly, and recovering without missing a beat when production footfall flattened stickers mid-rehearsal. When a cable cam's tracking proved too unreliable, Mo-Sys's crane became the sole virtual camera for the entire broadcast.

StarTracker Max delivered rock-solid tracking throughout the event, where other systems and technologies would have failed to answer the bell.
